Hi, my name is Mrs. Woodburn, and I have been teaching in the Medina Central School District since 2008.  It has been a wonderful experience working with the children and community here in Medina, and I thoroughly enjoy the smiles that enter my classroom each and every day.  I was born in Buffalo, New York and attended Clarence Central School District. I studied Childhood Education and Health Science at The College at Brockport for my BS, and I received my MS in Literacy from Buffalo State College.  Since a young age, I knew I was meant to work with children and become a teacher. Watching children’s faces light up when they have learned something new and congratulating students on the growth they have made, are two of the most joyful experiences in the teaching profession. Learning something new is not always easy, but providing meaningful and engaging learning opportunities is my passion.  Although I am extremely devoted to teaching, I have many other interests outside of school. Spending time with my family and watching my children grow are among my favorites. Other interests of mine include reading, camping, hiking, board games, music, movies, and shopping. Most of all, I love to laugh.  First Grade is full of fun discoveries, creativity, and hard work. I look forward to getting to know you and your child this year, and I invite you to be part of their learning experience. Let’s go on this adventure together!
